The ability to create and edit images broken into layers is one of the most powerful tools in modern graphic editors. It would lose a lot in its effectiveness if it were not for the ability to selectively merge such layers. In the graphics editor Adobe Photoshop, there are more than enough ways to connect layers.
Instructions
Step 1
Start the graphics editor and enable the display of the layers panel in its interface, if it is not in the program window. To do this, open the "Window" section in the menu and select the "Layers" item or just press the f7 key. Then open or create a document with all the layers to be merged.
Step 2
If you need to connect only two layers lying one above the other in the layers panel, then right-click the upper one and select the line "Merge with previous" from the context menu. This command corresponds to the keyboard shortcut ctrl + e. If the required layers are not located on adjacent lines, then the lower one can be previously dragged with the mouse close to the upper one.
Step 3
If absolutely all visible layers need to be merged, then right-click on any of them and select the “Merge Visible” line from the context menu. The keyboard shortcut shift + ctrl + e can be used for this command.
Step 4
If you need to combine a group of layers located at different non-adjacent levels in the toolbar, then first select all the layers you need. This can be done by clicking them all with the left mouse button while holding down the ctrl key. After that, right-click and select the "Merge layers" line in the context menu.
Step 5
If it is necessary to combine a group of layers, at least one of which is text, a shape or an object of another type other than the usual image, then such layers must be prepared in advance. Right-click the layer and choose Rasterize Layers from the menu. After that, you can combine the layers in the usual way.
Step 6
Save the edited document in psd format if you plan to make changes to the layers further. If this is not required, then use the hotkey combination ctrl + alt="Image" + shift + s to open the image optimization dialog and then save one of the standard image formats to a file.
