ICQ or, as it is called in runet, ICQ is one of the most popular and widespread Internet messengers. This program allows you to efficiently exchange instant messages and transfer files. The big advantage of ICQ is its ease of installation and configuration. Even the most inexperienced user can easily download and install ICQ on their own computer.
Instructions
Step 1
Before installing ICQ on your computer, you must first download the installation file from the developers website. ICQ is distributed free of charge, so downloading the distribution kit, laid out in open access, is not difficult.
Step 2
To get the installation file, go to the official ICQ website at https://www.icq.com. If you have a standard Windows operating system, select the large yellow button labeled "Download ICQ" located under the top animated banner and click it. It will automatically download the latest available ICQ version

If you have any file download manager installed, by default the distribution will be saved to the C: // Downloads folder, but if you wish, you can choose any other path convenient for you. If the download is carried out through a browser, the program will ask you to specify the folder to save the file.
Step 4
If your operating system belongs to the Mac or Linux family, select the "Download" item in the top menu of the main page of the site and in the drop-down context menu click on the type of your OS. As a result, the distribution kit corresponding to the selected platform will start downloading.
Step 5
After finishing downloading the distribution, open the folder with the saved installation exe-file and run it. The ICQ installation will start in automatic mode. At the beginning of the installation process, the installation wizard will prompt you to select the interface language (Russian by default) and accept the license agreement. To do this, click the "I agree" button.
Step 6
In the second step, you will be asked to select the ICQ installation option: "Return to full installation" or "Customize installation". The first option is the most complete and is suitable for inexperienced users. As a result of his choice, ICQ automatically integrates with social networks and the Mail.ru search engine. If this does not suit you, select the second option and uncheck those functions that you do not want to install. Then click the "Install" button and wait until the installation of ICQ on your computer is complete.
Step 7
After the installation is complete, the program will open a login window where you can enter your user number and password. If you have never used ICQ before and you do not have a user number, select the "Register" option and then follow the wizard's prompts. After assigning you an identifier and choosing a password, you can enter your contact list and start chatting.
