The creation of complex graphic design details often begins with drawing a series of simple shapes like a circle. There are several ways to draw a circle in Photoshop.

Step 1
Create a new document in a graphical editor by opening the settings using the New command from the File menu. Select RGB color mode from the Color Mode list box. In the Background Contents list, select White or Background Color. Use any color other than the background as the foreground color. This is required in order for the drawn circle to be visible.
Step 2
The most obvious way to draw a circle is to get a round brush impression. Select the Brush Tool, go to the Brushes palette and open the Brush Tip Shape tab. If you cannot find the brushes palette in the graphics editor window, expand it with the Brushes option from the Window menu.
Step 3
Select one of the round brushes and uncheck the checkboxes to the left of the palette tab names. On the Brush Tip Shape tab, adjust the size of the brush by setting the desired size in pixels using the Diameter slider. If you want a circle with sharp edges, set the Hardness to its maximum value. The lower the value of this parameter, the more feathered edges the brushprint will have.
Step 4
Place the cursor on the new document and click the left mouse button. The circle, the diameter of which is equal to the diameter of the configured brush, is ready.
Step 5
Another way to draw a circle is to create a circular selection and fill it with color. To do this, select the Elliptical Marquee Tool in the tool palette, place the cursor over the open document and start drawing an elliptical selection. In the process of creating a selection, press the Shift key and do not release until you get a circle of the desired diameter.
Step 6
Fill a circular selection with any color or texture using the Paint Bucket Tool. To use a texture to fill a circle, select Pattern from the list in the Paint Bucket tool's options bar.
Step 7
Another way to draw a circle in Photoshop is to use the Ellipse Tool. Select this tool from the tool palette and switch it to Fill pixels mode by clicking on the button in the settings panel that will appear under the main menu after activating the Ellipse Tool.
Step 8
Start drawing an ellipse and press the Shift key. The shape you create changes from an ellipse to a circle filled with the foreground color.
