Step 1
To download Avast! Free Antivirus 5.0 go to the download page. On it, click on the hyperlink with the word "Download". Select Download Slow. If a window pops up asking you to install the Google browser, just close it, click on the button “Install and download the file for FREE! (speed ~ 100 Kbs) "and select the location to save the file.
Step 2
Double-click on the downloaded exe-file - the installer will start. In the Avast! Install window find the "Installation Options" group. In it, set the option "Participate in the avast! Community" to allow the program to collect anonymous information about the security of your PC.
Step 3
Select the installation option - full or custom. The second option will allow you to install only the program components you need and choose a different installation path. Click on the "Next" button to start the installation. Information about the installation process can be viewed in the "Installation progress" window. When the installation of the anti-virus is complete, click on the "Finish" button.
Step 4
It remains to register your copy of the antivirus. Registration, as already noted, is free, but you will have to provide your email address and name, otherwise the program will stop working after 30 days. Provided that the antivirus is running, open the "Summary" section, click on the "Current status" tab, and then click on the "Register" button.
