As you browse the web, they are stored on your computer's hard drive and in your browsing history so that you can easily return to them. But this temporary information should be removed regularly for better performance or if you don't want someone to know which pages you have visited.
Instructions
Step 1
If history is saved in your browser settings, then all the pages you have visited are available through the "History" tab. For example, in the Mozilla Firefox browser through the "History" you can view recently closed tabs, restore the previous session, see visits for "Today", "Yesterday" and the last seven days. You can also delete your browsing history there. You can also clear it in another way: "Tools" -> "Settings" -> "Privacy" -> "Clear recent history". In the window that appears, check the boxes next to the necessary items: "History of visits and downloads", "History of forms and search", "Cache" and click "Clear now".
Step 2
To clear the browsing history in Internet Explorer, go to the "Tools" tab -> "Internet Options" -> "Internet Properties" -> "General" tab. In the item "Browsing history" click "Delete". The "Delete browsing history" window will appear - check the boxes next to the necessary items: "Temporary Internet files", "Cookies", "History" and click "Delete". Likewise, you can clear the browsing history of any browser.
Step 3
You can delete saved pages in another way. They are stored on the system drive of the computer, as a rule, this is drive C. For example, if you are using Windows XP, go to the C: Documents and Settings directory Username Local Settings Temporary Internet Files and manually delete the pages and other Internet files stored there.
Step 4
Delete temporary files via the Start menu. If using Windows OS, go to "Start" -> "Control Panel" -> "Internet Options" -> "General" tab -> "Temporary Internet Files" -> "Delete Files". In the "Delete Files" window, check the box next to "Delete this content" and click "OK" two times. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, go to "Start" -> "Control Panel" -> "Network and Internet" -> "Internet Options". In the "General" tab in the "Browser history" section, click "Delete files" -> "Delete all" -> "Yes" -> "OK".
