While mastering the work on a computer, a beginner may ask questions: where the file is saved, how it is done, where to look for it later. Having gained experience, he will perform many operations, almost without thinking. The main thing is to understand the principle and logic of actions.
All files can be roughly divided into several categories. The first includes those that the user independently saves to the selected directory. Another category is files that have already been assigned a path for saving. The latter option can often be found in computer games: the scene is written into a special folder called Saves, it is automatically created by the application in the directory designated by the developers. As a rule, files with game scenes should be searched in several places. Most often they are located in the folder with the game itself or in the "My Documents" folder and a subfolder with the name of the game. For files created by the user, you need to use the tools of the application in which the work is performed. In many programs, the interface is similar, so the files are saved in the same way. From the File menu select the Save command using the left mouse button. A new dialog box will open. In its upper part you can select a local disk (or removable media) and the folder in which the file will be stored. In the File name field, you must enter a name by which you can then identify the file yourself. The Format field contains a list of formats in which the created file can be saved. The selected extension determines with which programs this file can be opened in the future. If you are afraid to get confused, it is better to leave the default. Click the Save button. The Save as command on the File menu is slightly different from the Save command. The procedure remains the same, but this command is used when, based on the original file, you need to create your own so that it does not replace the original file. In this case, you need to give the file a name different from the original. To find the saved file, go to the directory that you assigned it. For example, if in the save window you have selected the item "My Computer", drive C and folder XXX, left-click on the icon "My Computer" on the desktop, in the window that opens, select drive C and open the folder XXX. The file you saved will be there.
