The product key update utility, available for free download from the official Microsoft website, is designed to edit OS installation settings and check system registry entries. The presence of changes may cause a system warning to appear.
Instructions
Step 1
Download the specialized utility Key Update Tool from the official Microsoft website. Create a system restore point to be able to return to the original settings and run the installed key update utility.
Step 2
Enter the product key found on the certificate of authenticity in the corresponding line of the main window of the wizard and confirm the selected action by clicking the Next button. Wait until the operation is completed and a message appears stating that the update was successful. Use the "Finish" button to automatically restart your computer.
Step 3
Call the main OS system menu by clicking the "Start" button to activate Windows, and go to the "All Programs" item. Expand the "Accessories" link and expand the "System Tools" node. Select the "Activate Windows" item and select the "Yes, activate Windows over the Internet" option.
Step 4
Confirm your choice by clicking "Windows Activation Privacy Statement" and then using the "Previous" and "Next" buttons in sequence. Specify the item "No, do not register …" and confirm the execution of the selected action by clicking the "Next" button.
Step 5
Wait until the request is processed and a message appears stating that the activation procedure was successful. Click on the OK button. Make sure to update your product key. To do this, go to the official Microsoft website authentication page and click the "Check Windows System" button.
Step 6
Please note that Microsoft does not collect user data when you update your product key. The information sent by the utility is only used to check the system and the integrity of the system registry.

If you cannot change the product key to the one specified in the certificate, we recommend contacting Microsoft support.
