Among bloggers who actively use the WordPress platform to host their work, the question of Russification of the latest version often arises. It would seem that if you wait for the official release, you can download the already Russified version, but impatience does its job. Russification can be divided into 2 parts: Russification of the admin panel and Russification of the blog theme. Both options will be covered in this article.

Step 1
If, for some reason, the display of the Cyrillic text is broken, you need to upload the Russification files to your computer, and then to the server. As a rule, these files are not shared separately by anyone. You can freely download the new version of WordPress, the distribution of which has a folder with the Russian language pack. The archive with WordPress takes about 4 MB, you see, the size of the files is quite small. Russification files take only a few kilobytes.
Step 2
Unzip the downloaded archive, open the wp-content folder, the languages folder will contain the files you need. By default, these files contain RU in their name.
Step 3
Use your FTP manager to upload them to your server in the public_html (or site domain) / wp-content / languages folder.
Step 4
Open the wp-config.php file on the server, which is located at the root of your site. Add the following lines to it:

define ('DB_CHARSET', 'utf8');
Step 5
Now you need to go to phpMyAdmin, select all database branches, set the new utf8 encoding.

The same can be done using the platform update, which is located on the main page of your admin panel.

The Russification of the theme is very easy to do. Open your website, highlight any word that is in English, copy it. If you have a copy of your theme on your computer, open Total Commander. Press alt="Image" + F7, paste the copied word into the "With text" field, click the "Start Search" button. The search result will be one or more files.
Step 8
Open each of these files one at a time. To search for these files in the editor, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + F. Modify the found words, then replace those files that are on the server with these files.
Step 9
After updating the page, depending on the correctness of the actions, you will see the changes or not. If no changes have occurred, therefore, you need to look for values in other files.
