A high level of computer performance ensures good ergonomics and pleasant work on the PC. Since the latest operating systems consume a lot of resources, mainly through graphical effects, they can slow down performance.
Instructions
Step 1
In addition to increasing the computer's physical memory, such as RAM, or replacing the processor with a newer one with a higher clock speed, you can disable some of the Windows graphics processes. Windows contains a system program such as Performance Options. To launch it, go to the "My Computer" folder and right-click on any empty space in the folder. In the context menu that appears, select Properties. You will see a window with basic information about the computer.
Step 2
In the left column with links, select the Advanced System Settings link. The application "System Properties" will start on the screen, by default the "Advanced" tab. On this tab you will see the "Performance" section, click the "Options …" button in it. The following Performance Options window will open.
Step 3
In the Visual Effects tab, select Provide Best Performance and click Apply. All graphic effects will be disabled, freeing up RAM for new processes.
Step 4
Then go to the "Advanced" tab and click the "Change …" button in the virtual memory options. Select the size of the paging file "System Selected Size" or select "Specify Size" and specify a maximum value, usually more than what is displayed in the "Recommended" line. After that, click “OK”, and in the previous window - “Apply”, and close all windows. Thus, you have increased the performance of your computer by disabling visual effects and using RAM due to the allocated share of memory from the hard disk.
