There are two ways to increase the performance of a video card. If you do not want to change the characteristics of the video adapter, then change the parameters of its operation by adjusting the software accordingly.
Instructions
Step 1
Install the latest software for your graphics card. To do this, visit the sites www.ati.com or www.nvidia.ru, depending on the manufacturer of this video adapter. Download the latest version of the program and install it. Restart your computer to complete the component installation.
Step 2
Open Display Properties and click the Advanced button. Select "nVidia Control Panel" or "Catalyst Control Center". In the menu that opens, select "3D Application Settings" or 3D Settings.
Step 3
For the item "Smoothing" set the parameter "Level (2x)". It is better to use Box as a filter. Disable anisotropic filtering. Activate either the item "Use application settings" or "Per-pixel selections".
Step 4
Now, in the Multiple Images Detail Level menu, set the High Performance option. If the graphics in the game are too low quality, then increase this exponentially to the values of "Performance" or "Quality".
Step 5
Be sure to find the item "Wait for vertical update" or "Vertical sync pulse". Set it to Always Off. This will dramatically increase the number of frames per second played in many 3D games.
Step 6
Choose the appropriate anti-aliasing mode. If you want to ensure the maximum performance of the video card, neglecting the image quality, then turn off anti-aliasing or set the lowest quality. Disable triple buffering in the settings of the Open GL item. If you are using a laptop, then open the power settings. Be sure to turn off Power Save Mode for the desired graphics card. This will improve the performance of the video adapter when running on battery power.
