Spam is one of the main problems of the modern Internet. It spreads through any means of communication and sometimes takes on such bizarre forms that it is quite difficult to recognize it.

Instructions

Step 1

Do not respond to messages that appear in the middle of the screen while browsing the web. This can be news, messages that you are the "millionth site visitor" or offers to "upgrade your browser". You can distinguish such a "fictitious" warning from a real one by paying attention to the "frame" around the image. There must be a cross that allows you to close the annoying banner. If there is no cross, then you should immediately leave this page.

Step 2

Do not add all applications to your contact list. Using Skype or ICQ, do not respond to any requests to add to the contact list. Most likely, it will turn out to be spam, especially if it is flavored with a message like: "Sasha, hello, we met at the bottom of the city …". Your name could be determined by the data indicated in the questionnaire, and the fact that you "met" is just a standard cliché. If a real person wants to add you, they will probably find another way to warn about this.

Step 3

Install an antivirus. It will avoid not only spam, but also viruses, hacker attacks and worms. One of the most popular in Russia is Kaspersky Anti-Virus, but other options also have the right to exist: Nod32 or Avast. A properly selected and configured antivirus will monitor all letters coming to your email address, your browser window and instant messenger clients, almost completely detecting spam.

Step 4

Take advantage of the built-in tools. For example, using the mail.ru mailbox you can add any user to the "spam", and messages from him will immediately go to the corresponding folder. The popular Vkontakte website has a “self-learning filter” installed - the first 2-3 times you receive unwanted requests and make the appropriate mark, you will designate the filter as a “circle of suspects” and it will send all similar messages to “spam”.

Step 5

Use plugins. For example, for ICQ and Skype there is an Antispam program that will respond to any friend request: “Hello, this is spam protection. Answer the question: what is the name of our planet? " The disadvantage of such a program is that it accepts only one answer: for example, the user who wrote "earth" will not pass because of the small letter at the beginning of the word.
