Some viruses encrypt user files, after which access to them by conventional means may be limited. The restoration of the normal mode occurs by means of software intervention.
Instructions
Step 1
Perform an additional scan of your computer for viruses. Then download one of the anti-trojan programs from the Internet. This is necessary if the malware was hidden from the antivirus. Check and then find the encrypted files.
Step 2
Back up them just in case and make sure there are no threats on your computer. Rewrite the full names of the Trojans found on your computer. This is necessary in order to gain access to information on file encryption methods in the future, since general-purpose utilities are unlikely to be suitable here. For the same reason, take your time to remove malware from your computer during the initial scan.
Step 3
Download any utility to decrypt files after being infected by viruses. Such utilities are usually available on the official websites of anti-virus systems developers. Also, when choosing a program, be guided by the name of the Trojan that encrypted it, since many of them use different methods.
Step 4
It is best to download from the sites of security vendors you know, as again there is a risk of encountering malware. Usually, these utilities have a trial period during which you can use them to disinfect your computer for free.
Step 5
Following the instructions of the system, select the files encrypted by the virus from the downloaded utility running on your computer and, following the instructions of the system, perform the necessary actions. After that, run a virus scan again, in particular with regard to the files you decrypted.
Step 6
After that, install reliable, updatable antivirus software on your computer in order to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future.
