Entering a serial number is a mandatory procedure for confirming the authenticity of a particular digital product. However, developers do not always give clear instructions on this procedure, as a result of which users have to register on their own.

Step 1
Install the required software. Run the installation file and follow the instructions on the screen. After a certain number of steps, as a rule, a special field will appear, where you need to enter the serial number or registration code.

Find the serial number of the program. It is usually located on the front or back of the boot disk. You should also inspect the box of the digital media: sometimes a note with a serial number is put inside. If the software requires you to enter a registration number, but you cannot find it, visit the developer's website and try to find a solution there. Sometimes the process of obtaining a code is a separate procedure performed on a special resource.
Step 3
Try to continue with the installation without entering the serial number. Usually this can be done without any obstacles, but at the same time it will be possible to use the program without registration for only a few weeks or months. As a result, later you will still have to enter the number. In this case, during the launch of the program, the corresponding window will automatically appear. To register an app, look at its top menu bar. Perhaps you will see the "Registration" tab, by clicking on which you can launch the window for entering the serial number.
Step 4
If you have a serial number in your hands, but the program does not have a special section for entering it, most likely, this must be done on the developer's website. You will be able to find the corresponding link in the options or help section of the application. Complete registration by going to the website.
Step 5
Make sure the serial number you entered is permanent. This is usually indicated in the reference section of the application. If the entered code is called temporary, then after a while you will need to get it again and re-register the application. Usually such a system is present in anti-virus programs, the key for which must be renewed every month.
