Step 1
Read the notebook documentation carefully. Information about the model of the integrated modem can be found in the description of the notebook, on the packaging or in the manual. Go to the manufacturer's website, in the model archive section, to find descriptions of your model. Or find a description through search engines. As a rule, such instructions can be found on the official websites of the manufacturer.
Step 2
Go to your motherboard BIOS and make sure the built-in modem is not disabled. The model of the modem may also be indicated there. Set the parameter to Enable. Save changes by pressing F10 and enter, or by going to the appropriate BIOS item. If you do not save the settings when you exit, the system will automatically notify you about this. Some laptop models had a modem switch directly on the case. Examine your laptop externally to find and turn on the modem. In addition, the presence of an integrated modem will be evidenced by the RJ-13 connector for the telephone connector.
Step 3
Run the "Device Manager" to install the drivers for the modem. Drivers can be downloaded from the manufacturer's official website. Search for your laptop model to get a direct link to your model page. If the modem is present in the laptop, but is not detected, it may be out of order. This can happen due to a voltage drop, a discharge of static electricity, or simply due to the age of the device.

You can also go to the "networked environment" of the computer, and see the name of the modem, which is currently active. To do this, you need to connect a connection. As a rule, all important information is contained in the "Property" item, which can be called by pressing the right mouse button.
