Collage technique appeared long before the computer era. However, it gained wide popularity precisely with the advent of programs that allow you to process images. Now every user who has mastered the basics of Adobe Photoshop or another graphic editor can make a simple, but original collage.
It is necessary
- - computer with Adobe Photoshop;
- - scanner;
- - digital camera;
- - a set of photographs.
Instructions
Step 1
Select photos. If they are on the camera, transfer them to your computer. Adobe Photoshop can work with different formats, but choose one and save all images in it.
Step 2
If you want to make a collage from old photos, scan them. You can scan through Adobe Photoshop. In the main menu, find the "File" tab, in it - the line "Import". Select your scanner. In the window that appears in front of you, fill in the parameters. For black and white photographs, it is best to choose the Grayscale option. Set the required resolution. Scan better with a resolution of 300dpi. During processing, it can be changed if needed. It is more convenient to save pictures in one folder.
Step 3
Cut out the parts you want from the photos. There are several ways to open pictures in Adobe Photoshop. For example, go to the "File" tab, and in it the "Open" function. The "Browse" window will appear. Find the folder you want, select a group of pictures or even all and click OK. If you use Total Commander or another similar file manager, photos can be selected, grabbed with the mouse and dragged into an open Adobe Photoshop program. It is more convenient to crop photos using a special tool available on the side panel. It looks like a slanting frame. After processing the photo, it is better to close it for a while, but if the car is powerful, then you can just roll it up.
Step 4
Create a new file. This is done again through the "File" tab in the top menu. There is a line "New". An empty white square will appear in front of you. Go to the "Image" tab and in the window that appears, set the parameters - height, width and resolution. The first two depend on your desire, the third - on what you are making the collage for. For the website or for viewing on a computer, the resolution must be at least 72 pixels. Select a mode. The corresponding option is in the "Image" tab. The most convenient is RGB mode. Save the fragments you need in RGB mode. In some versions of the program, the mode is set simultaneously with other parameters.
Step 5
Choose a transparent layer as a background for your collage. You can also paint the background - for example, if the fragments of the images are loose. Open or expand the photos again. Use the Move tool to move the image to the new field. You can arrange them in different ways, but it is better to select the main fragment and attach it to the selected point on the canvas. For this there is a function "Binding". Include the rest of the composition in the composition.
Step 6
Align the edges. This is done using the "Crop" function you already know. All that remains is to save your creation in the desired format. It depends on whether you are going to make further edits or not. If you are, choose the psd extension. Save the finished collage as.jpg"
