Instructions

Step 1

The first thing it is recommended to delete is movies, music and similar entertainment files, but even this may not be enough. If this does not help, you can try to delete unnecessary operating system files, of which there are a lot on the PC system drive.

Start by deleting unnecessary Windows folders.

Step 2

The first step to help free up our disk space is to turn off System Restore. This is a special function of Microsoft Windows, which permanently backs up special system information on the hard disk, with the help of which the PC user can restore the system or roll it back to a predetermined date in the event of a malfunction. As practice shows, this function does not always help, so you can safely turn it off.

Go to the start menu. Select the Control Panel> System tab. Next, open the "System Restore" tab and check the box next to "Disable System Restore on all disks". Click the Apply button. System Restore will be disabled.

Step 3

Now you need to delete service files. Go to "my computer" and click and in the menu bar select the following items "service> folder properties". Go to the "View" tab. In the "additional parameters" and uncheck the box next to the item "hide protected system files (recommended)" and check the box next to "show hidden files and folders". After that, you will see the "System Volume Information" folder on all local drives of your computer. Sometimes it can take up a lot of space, so delete it.

Step 4

In the same way, you can clean up the "C: / Windows / Temp" folder where temporary files of the operating system or other software are stored.

If this does not help, use special programs to clean the disk.
