The motherboard can be conventionally divided into several categories. As a result, among all the models, you can choose the right model. Chipset. The choice of this component of the motherboard must be taken seriously. Recently, quite a few chipset manufacturers have appeared on the market of modern technologies. Do not forget that the chipset should be selected for a specific processor manufacturer. Intel processor-enabled chipset will not work with AMD. When choosing the ratio "motherboard-processor", remember that the system bus frequency of these devices must be the same. For example, a processor with a 533 MHz system bus (FSB) will not work with a chipset with a FSB lower or higher than this value.

Slots for RAM. Now on the market of computer products there are new models of memory cards. DDR is already out of circulation, being replaced by faster DDR2 and DDR3. There is also a drop in the price point for DDR3 memory, which is a big plus in choosing faster memory at an affordable price.

Slots for other devices (PCI Express). There is no specific advice on this matter. Choosing a motherboard that will stand in these slots, what type of video adapter. Embedded peripheral systems. Various devices can be built into your card: video, audio and network adapters.
