In some situations, you need to create a network bridge to set up a full blown LAN. This will allow you to combine multiple network adapters into a single structure.
It is necessary
Two network cards
Instructions
Step 1
Typically, a network bridge is created to connect multiple computers to the Internet. If you are using a single-port modem, then a bridge must be created to connect the rest of the PCs to the Internet. First, set up your router or modem to access the internet.
Step 2
Open the web interface of the modem settings. Go to the WAN menu. Set the required data transfer type (PPPoE, L2TP, etc.). Enter your username and password to get a connection with the provider.
Step 3
Now connect the second PC or network hub to the other network interface card of the primary computer on which the network bridge will be configured. Turn on at least one computer connected to the first PC. This is required to enable the second local area network.
Step 4
Open the Network and Sharing Center or just a list of active local networks. Select the connection to the modem (router) and the local network, right-click on one of the icons and select "Create bridge".
Step 5
Another icon will now appear with the name "Network Bridge". This is what you need to configure. Open the properties of this connection and highlight the TCP / IP Internet Protocol. Click the Properties button.
Step 6
Activate the "Use the following IP address" function. Enter its value, for example 145.135.125.1. In the fields "Default gateway" and "Preferred DNS server" enter the IP of the modem. Save the network bridge settings.
Step 7
Now open the TCP / IP properties of the other computer. Set the following values:
145.135.125.2 - IP address
255.255.0.0 - Subnet mask
145.135.125.1 - the main gateway
145.135.125.2 - DNS servers.
Step 8
Configure the settings for the network adapters of other computers in the same way. Go to the properties of the network bridge. Share the Internet with other users by checking the box in the Access menu. Save your bridge settings and reconnect to the internet. Disable the DHCP function in the modem settings.
