However, it happens that after installing a new program, we do not recognize the usual files, because icons have changed their appearance.

Step 1
The most reliable way to make certain file types appear the way you like is to change the folder properties. To do this, in the control panel, find the item "Folder Options".
In the "File Types" tab, at the top of the window, you will find a complete list of file types that are available on your computer. Review it carefully and select the ones you want to change (or create if they do not have icons). After clicking on the "Modify" or "Create" button, a menu will open. It will ask you to select the program that you want to use for all files of this type. So, for example, several audio players are installed on the computer. By choosing one of them as the default player, all audio files will be opened with this program and displayed by its icon.
In order to use another player for playing some files, select it when opening in the context menu.
Step 2
If you want to radically change the design, change the icon image, use the "Advanced" button (it is located in the same window as "Change"). A window will open in front of you, in which all the icons available in the program are presented.

After marking the file with the desired icon, load it. Now all files of the edited type will be visible in the new image.
Step 3
It is also easy and simple to change (copy, delete, edit) images on icons in the toolbar of any Microsoft Office program.
In order for these actions to be available, you need to go to the menu "View" - "Toolbars" - "Settings". Now, by right-clicking on the icon, you can select any action in the context menu:
• replace it with another one from those already available in the program;
• copy (for pasting into another icon);
• delete;
• give him a style;
• change (if you have a craving for drawing). Selecting the "Edit" item will give you access to the icon in edit mode. Here, changing the color and shape of the image, draw it as you see fit. If the result did not please you, you can return everything back by selecting the item "Restore the icon on the button".
