In a typical PC, as a rule, there are connectors for speakers, as well as line and microphone inputs. Sometimes it is necessary to connect two microphones to the computer at the same time (for example, when singing karaoke or joint recording of vocals or instruments on different audio tracks). There are several different ways to connect two microphones to your computer.

Instructions
Step 1
The best solution is to buy an entry-level professional audio interface. Such devices are inexpensive and are available in various modifications. There are options for connecting to USB, Firewire, PCI and PCI-E ports. The choice depends on both your goals and the configuration of your computer.
Step 2
The best option would be to buy an external interface with built-in microphone preamps. As a rule, such devices are supplied with a set of drivers that allow simultaneous recording and playback of a signal from several inputs, as well as processing various audio effects. If you bought just such an audio interface, you only need microphones and cables for them with XLR connectors (with three pins).
Step 3
You can use external microphone preamplifiers, which are connected to an ordinary computer audio card via a stereo line-in. The signal from one of the microphones goes to the left channel, and the other to the right. To do this, you need an adapter from a mini-jack (TRS 3.5 mm) to two RCA connectors (known as a "tulip").
Step 4
All other options are designed for a fairly low budget, the quality will also be low, but they are also suitable for emergencies.
Step 5
Often, Chinese DVD-players with karaoke function had two microphone jacks. If you have one of them, you can connect its line-out with a stereo cable to the line-in of your computer by connecting through an adapter, as in the previous version, and connect the microphones to the corresponding connectors of the player using XLR-TRS cords (6, 35 mm jack). The preamplification quality of budget Chinese equipment is not very high, and microphones from this country are highly susceptible to interference and feedback (high-frequency whistle from the speaker signal entering the microphone), but this option is also suitable when working with headphones.
Step 6
You can also solder a small circuit with a common screening (negative) wire and separate positive wires. To do this, you only need a stereo cable, a stereo plug-jack, two mono connectors and, of course, a soldering iron and electrical tape. But it must be borne in mind that the signal level will be extremely low with this method of connection, and the noise level will be high.
