The speakers are connected to the computer through the analog output on the sound card. It is important that sound drivers are installed in the system and sound parameters are configured, otherwise it will not be possible to play audio files.
Instructions
Step 1
Check if your system has sound drivers installed. Go to "Device Manager" (right-click on "My Computer" - "Device Manager"). If the tree component "Sound, video and game devices" is missing in the window that opens, or the model of your sound card is not indicated in this paragraph, then there are no drivers and you need to install it.
Step 2
Find out your sound card model and manufacturer name. The markings can be applied directly to the card itself. Its name can be indicated on the panel where the audio outputs are located. The model may be listed in the documentation for the computer. If you still can't determine the manufacturer, install the free CPU-Z utility, which will test your hardware and show the name of your sound card.
Step 3
Go to the site of the card manufacturer by entering their name in any search engine. Download the latest software. Perform the installation according to the instructions of the installer, and then restart your computer.
Step 4
Plug the plug into the audio output of the computer. The speaker hole is usually green, but depending on the model and manufacturer of the board, it may differ in color or position on the computer panel. If, after connecting, a dialog box appears to indicate the type of connected device, select "Speakers".
Step 5
Test the sound. If the sound still does not work, check the system volume settings. Go to the control panel of the sound card and change the item "Speakers" to "Headphones". Check if the speakers are connected to the correct hole, if the plug is fully inserted.
Step 6
If you want to connect a second pair of speakers, you need to check if the sound card allows it. To do this, look for the corresponding menu items in the driver control panel (for example, "2CH speaker"). If this option is present, then simply plug the plug of the second speakers into the second output hole. Otherwise, you can purchase a Jack 3.5mm splitter from any radio store.
