What should be done? The answer is often converting videos to custom compression formats with custom settings. The choice of programs for such a conversion is extensive and comes down to personal preferences: do the conversion quickly or have a choice of additional settings, etc. But more often it is the reduction of the "weight" of the video file that leads to the task of the converter program - the very megabytes that you are missing.

Step 1
You can use Total Video Converter to convert. It is quite common on the Internet, and you can easily find links to download it. The program was created specifically for converting video files and has rich functionality. So, download and install this program on your computer.

Run the program, pay attention to its interface. On the left side there will be a window into which you can drag and drop your source files. On the right is a preview window, below it are playback control buttons and markers that allow you to mark the start and end positions of the video stream. If you trim a little at the beginning and end of the file (for example, titles), then already at this stage you can save some space. Drag the desired video file to the left window of the program.
Step 3
A new window will appear on the screen prompting you to select the desired output file format. There are several such formats: 3GP, AVI, MP4, MOV, MKV, MPEG, FLV, WMV and others. As you can see from this list, it is possible to get the converted video for mobile devices, for insertion on sites, for viewing through players and many other devices. For training, choose the MOV format, which compresses video well and is often used on the Internet. The standard player for a file with this extension is QuickTime.
Step 4
The file will be loaded into the program, then select the quality level. Typically, this is a three-step selection from smallest to largest. The default is the average value (for the English version of the program - "normal quality"). It is important to remember that the lower the quality, the smaller the file size you will have on the output. Next to the quality selection window, there is a link to the properties of the new video file. Open it and look at the options in each of the four tabs (Audio Options, Video Options, Video Size, Crop and Borders). Resizing the video, sound quality, screen size and cropping will affect the final size. It makes no sense to change the geometry of the picture or the sound frequency to large values, but lowering some parameters will ultimately provide a gain in megabytes.
Step 5
Specify a folder to output your converted file or see where it goes by default. This is usually the folder of the program itself. It remains to click on the "Convert" button and wait for the end of the transformations.
