Files and folders on a computer can be in two visual modes: visible and invisible. If you cannot find the folder, although you are sure you did not delete it, make sure you have the correct settings for displaying files.
Instructions
Step 1
If you do not remember on which hard drive your hidden folder is located, first determine the directory in which it was saved. To do this, call the search window through the "Start" menu by selecting the appropriate item. Enter the desired name in the search box, use the drop-down list to set the "File type - All files and folders" parameter. Expand the "Advanced Options" menu and put a marker in front of the "Search in hidden files and folders" item, click the "Find" button.
Step 2
Open any folder without closing the search boxes. On the top menu bar, select Tools. Select Folder Options from the drop-down menu and wait for a new dialog box to open. Go to the "View" tab in this window, in the "Advanced settings" section, find the term "Show hidden files and folders" and set the marker in the field opposite it. Click the "Apply" button and close the properties window by clicking the OK button or the X icon in the upper right corner of the window.
Step 3
Return to the search window and look in the "Folder" section, in which directory the folder you need is saved. Navigate to the found folder or to the desired drive. Right click on the hidden folder, which is now visible (it should look semi-transparent). In the drop-down menu, select the "Properties" item with the left mouse button. In the dialog box that opens, go to the "General" tab. Uncheck the Hidden box at the bottom of the window. Click the Apply button and close the Properties window.
Step 4
The same can be done from the search box. Place the mouse cursor on the name of the desired folder and click on it with the right mouse button. Follow all the steps that are described in the third step. When the folder becomes visible, you can easily find it at any time, rename it, move it, delete unnecessary files from it, or add new ones.
