Folders and files on your computer can be hidden in order to protect and preserve personal information. Hidden folders and files usually do not appear in content lists and are not identified in searches. But in the Windows operating system, you can easily enable the display of hidden folders and files, as well as define their definition in the search.

Step 1
Open the "My Computer" folder. To do this, you need to find its shortcut on the Desktop and double-click on it with the left mouse button. You can also find the My Computer folder on the Start menu.

In the "My Computer" folder, left-click once on the "Service" line in the top menu.

In the list that appears, select the line "Folder options …" by clicking on it with the left mouse button once.

In the folder properties window that appears, select the "View" tab by clicking on it with the left mouse button once.
Step 5
The block "Additional parameters:" shows a list of all configurable parameters for displaying folders. In it, find the line "Hidden files and folders" (you can scroll down the list by clicking on the slider on the right and dragging it down. You can also use the mouse wheel to scroll). Below the line "Hidden files and folders" two options are shown: "Do not show hidden files and folders" and "Show hidden files and folders".
Step 6
To display hidden files and folders, put a period in front of the line "Show hidden files and folders", then click the "Apply" and "OK" buttons.
