Step 1
Apply the factory default BIOS menu settings first. This will undo any changes made to the computer settings. Turn on your PC and press the Delete key. After opening the BIOS menu, find the Use Default Settings item and press the Enter key. Restart your computer to apply the settings.

If you are unable to access the above menu, and this may be the case when the keyboard is missing or the computer does not start after changing the BIOS settings, then use the mechanical reset method. Turn off your PC. Open the system unit.

This usually requires removing only the left cover. Find a small washer-shaped battery on the motherboard. Use tweezers or a flat-blade screwdriver to remove it from the slot on the motherboard.

Now find the two contacts to which the BIOS battery was attached. Lock them using the same tools. Replace the battery. Please note that this procedure will reset all parameters except the BIOS version. Those. if the computer does not start as a result of incorrect BIOS firmware, resetting the parameters will not help you.

Many computers are now sold with an operating system preinstalled. It is rather difficult to restore its parameters. First, find the installation disc for the version that was previously installed. You can find information about the preinstalled operating system by examining the text of the sticker located on the system unit.
Step 6
Install the correct version of the operating system. When the installation process comes to entering the Windows key, enter in the fields exactly the data that is indicated on the license sticker. The only drawback of this method is that when you install the "factory" operating system in the described way, you will not be able to return the programs that were there initially.
