To fully use all the utilities included in the Microsoft Office XP package, you must activate it. The activation process has been simplified as much as possible by Microsoft.
Instructions
Step 1
Install and run Office XP. Upon first launch, an activation wizard will automatically open to guide you through this procedure. Office XP can be activated in three ways: online, by phone, and using an activation key without registration. Better to use the first two options, since registering the product with Microsoft gives you the opportunity to activate a perpetual license. The latter option assumes that you intend to activate the end-user license, which means that the product will stop working in full mode after 12 months.
Step 2
Select the "checkbox" according to your capabilities, the activation option and click the "Next" button. If you have access to the Internet, then it is most likely to choose activation through it, since it is much faster. On the next page, review the Microsoft Office Privacy Policy and click Next again.
Step 3
Enter the information about yourself that the installation wizard will ask for in the next step. Please note that the only field that cannot be left blank is your location: country and region. In the United States, since 2001, it has not been possible to activate a license via the Internet or telephone.
Step 4
If you selected activation by phone, two numbers (paid and free) will appear on the screen. Call one of them and follow the instructions of the answering machine, pressing the corresponding numbers as answers (here you will have to enter the key, which is indicated on the sticker of the installation disc). Be sure to write down the activation code that will be dictated to you by the robot.
Step 5
Enter this code on the next page of the setup wizard and click Next. If you have not made any mistakes, then the wizard will congratulate you on successful activation.
Step 6
The same will happen when activating via the Internet. Only you don't have to call anywhere. After you enter your user details, Office prompts you for ways to get special offers from Microsoft. Choose the one that suits you or unsubscribe altogether. Click "Next". The program itself will send a request to the company's service and activate the product automatically. When finished, restart the program.
