Working on a computer is most comfortable and productive when it is correctly configured, which includes a wide variety of parameters. In the event that the user has to deal with texts, it is very important to correctly configure the keyboard.
Instructions
Step 1
You must first select your primary keyboard input language. Open: "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Regional and Language Options". In the "Regional Options" section, select the Russian language. In the "Location" section, indicate the country in which you are currently staying. This will allow various network services to provide you with more accurate information - for example, about the weather.
Step 2
Open the "Languages" section in the same window ("Regional and Regional Standards"), click the "Details" button. A window will open where you can select the default input language. Very often, the default language is English, which is quite inconvenient. Select "Russian - Russian" from the drop-down list.
Step 3
There you can also set up a keyboard shortcut for switching keyboard layouts. Click the "Keyboard Options" button, in the window that opens, click "Change shortcut keys". Find the option "Switch keyboard layouts", it should be marked with a checkbox. Select the keyboard shortcut you need.
Step 4
The language settings are set, now adjust the keyboard behavior. Open the Keyboard section in Control Panel. In the window that opens, set the delay before the start of the character repetition with the pressed and held key and the repetition rate. The amount of delay and the repeat rate depends on how confident you are using the keyboard. The faster you work, the less latency should be and the faster the retry speed.
Step 5
By selecting the "Hardware" tab, you can view the keyboard type, properties and run, if necessary, its diagnostics. Along with the keyboard, immediately configure the mouse parameters: "Control Panel" - "Mouse". Select the Pointer Options tab and set the speed you want it to move.
Step 6
In some cases, it is possible that the keyboard layout indicator disappears from the tray. To restore it, open: "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Regional and Language Options" - "Languages" - "More". In the "Settings" section, click the "Language bar" button and check the box next to "Display the language bar on the desktop". If you cannot restore the indicator display, install the Punto Switcher software, which can be downloaded from the Internet.
Step 7
For comfortable work with texts, immediately set up ClearType, this is important if you are working on a laptop or using an LCD monitor. Open the "Control Panel" section "Setting ClearType", check the box "Enable ClearType". Click the Start Wizard button. Choose from several options for displaying the text that suits you best.
