Among other things, they provided for the possibility to change small letters to large ones for people with impaired vision.

Instructions

Step 1

To increase the size of text and objects on the screen, go to the "Control Panel" from the "Start" menu and select the "Display" component in the "Appearance and Themes" category by clicking on its icon with the left mouse button. The "Properties: Display" dialog box opens. Go to the "Options" tab and click the "Advanced" button - this will bring up a new window "Properties: Monitor Connector and [name of your video card]". On the "General" tab, select the "Display" section and use the drop-down list to set the dpi value (dots per inch - the number of dots per inch) to reduce the monitor resolution. All elements of the "Desktop" will be enlarged.

Step 2

If the drop-down menu does not contain the value you need, select the "Custom Options" item - a third "Scale Selection" dialog box will open. Set the scale of the font and objects on the screen as a percentage from the drop-down list or use the mouse to move along the "ruler" until you find the best option for yourself. Click OK to accept the new value. Restart your computer if necessary.

Step 3

If the method described in the first steps is too complicated for you, use the easier option to enlarge the font. Call the "Properties" window in the manner described above, or click in any free space on the desktop with the right mouse button. Select "Properties" from the drop-down menu. Go to the "Appearance" tab. In the "Font size" section, use the drop-down list to select a value that makes the text easier for you to read (Large Fonts and Extra Large Fonts). Click the Apply button.

Step 4

If you are not satisfied with the options offered in the "Font Size" section, click the "Advanced" button - a new "Additional Design" dialog box will open. Using the drop-down list in the "Element" section, select the elements one by one and set the font size you need for each by entering it from the keyboard in the "Font" - "Size" section, or use the drop-down list with the prescribed values. Click OK to accept the new value. In the display properties window, click the Apply button and close the window.
