Fortunately, setting up a keyboard is much easier than using an optical mouse, so even the most inexperienced user can handle this task.

Step 1
First of all, you need to open "Start", find the "Control Panel" icon and enter it. In the window that appears, examine the list of categories and select "Printers and other equipment".

Double click on the link: you will be taken to the required category.
As soon as a new window opens, you will see all the equipment connected to the computer, you need to select the "Keyboard" icon from the list.

As a result, the "Properties: Keyboard" dialog box will be displayed on the monitor screen. In this window, you need to select the "Speed" tab, find the "Input character repetition" group in it and set the delay regulator as required. This will allow you to adjust the time after which the key is held down to start multiple character entry.

In the same group, you need to adjust the speed of character repetition, which allows you to determine the speed of typing while holding the key.

In the "Cursor blinking frequency" group it is necessary to correct the position of the slider, which allows you to set the optimal cursor blinking frequency.

And in the end, save the changes made by clicking on the "OK" button at the bottom of the dialog box.

If you are not sure about the correctness of your settings, before changing the parameters, write down the previous values on paper, so that in the future it will be easier to adjust the position of the knobs or simply return to the original settings.
Step 8
But it is not recommended to touch the "Hardware" tab, because it indicates the type of keyboard used on your computer. This means that it is not advisable to change the values of this tab before changing the keyboard.
