Modern versions of the Opera browser, like other Internet browsers, provide the user with a very wide range of control options. In particular, they have options for changing the interface language, and checking spelling, as well as language preferences when browsing the web. This procedure is automated - you do not have to download something and look for folders in which to place the downloaded files.

Instructions

Step 1

Expand the Opera menu - press the alt="Image" key or click on the very first button on the browser toolbar. In the Settings section - in the Russian-language interface it is called "Settings" - select the item Preferences ("General settings"). This will open a browser preferences window titled Preferences. There is also a shorter way to it - press the key combination Ctrl + F12.

Step 2

On the General tab, which opens by default, expand the lower drop-down list - Language. Find and select the line "Russian" in it.

Step 3

Click the Details button next to this list if you want to open a separate window in which you can make several additional settings related to your browser's language preferences. For example, there you can specify the default page encoding and the order in which languages are selected - these settings will be used by Opera in cases where these parameters are missing in the page source code.

Step 4

If you have your own interface russification file, you can replace the default file with it. To do this, click the Choose button, find it on your computer, highlight it and click the Open button.

Step 5

Click the OK button in the Languages window and then in the Preferences window. After that, the language of the Oper interface will be changed to Russian.

Step 6

If the spell check option is enabled in the browser settings, after changing the language you will need to change the checking dictionary used by this option. To do this, load into Opera a page of any site that has a text entry field, and right-click on this field. In the pop-up context menu, go to the "Dictionaries" subsection and select the "Russian" line. This list contains only those languages whose dictionaries were downloaded from the Opera server, and if you have not done this yet, select the bottom line of the list - "Add / remove dictionaries". In the list that opens, select "Russian", click the "Next" button, and then follow the instructions of the dictionary installation wizard.
