Having made only one mistake during the installation of Windows - instead of the Russian language by specifying English, you can unexpectedly observe the English-language interface upon completion. However, instead of reinstalling the operating system, it is enough to tinker with the settings a little.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the Start button located on the taskbar at the lower left corner of your screen. In the menu that appears, select Control panel. If the operating system has a classic look, then these actions will be slightly different: click Start, then Settings, and only then Control panel.
Step 2
A new window will appear - the control panel menu. Click on the Regional and Language Options button - its icon is shown as a globe. In the window that appears, there are three tabs: Regional options, Languages and Advanced. Choose the last one.
Step 3
Find the drop-down list Select a language to match the language version of the non-Unicode programs you want to use, select Russian in it.
Step 4
If you need these changes to take effect not only for the user who logs into the operating system under the Administrator account, check the box next to Apply all settings to the current user account and to the default user profile. Finally, click Apply.
Step 5
A new window will appear in which the system will ask you to restart your computer for the changes to take effect. Answer this request in the affirmative, and after downloading, enjoy the Russian-language interface of the operating system. Cyrillic will appear in the names of directories and files, as well as in various menus and dialogues of Russian programs.
Step 6
Keep in mind that all the above actions and changes can be made by the user only when he logged into the operating system under the Administrator profile of this computer. In the case of a home machine, when, as a rule, all family members have access to all OS settings, this does not really matter. And on a work computer, this can be problematic, since usually logging in under the Administrator profile is available only to special workers - for example, system administrators.
