Step 1
To recover a lost or unsaved file, first of all you need to enable the "Create backup copies" option. For Microsoft Office Word 2003, the sequence will be as follows. In the main window of the program, click the top menu "Tools" and select "Options". Go to the "Save" tab and check the box next to "Always create a backup".

For Microsoft Office Word 2007, you need to click on the large button with the Office logo and select the "Word Options" section. Go to the "Advanced" block. Scroll down the page to the "Save" block and check the box next to "Always create a backup copy".

Now any document created in this text editor can be restored. For Microsoft Office Word 2003, you must click on the top menu "File" and select "Open". In the window that appears, select the line "Recover text from any file", which is in the drop-down list "File type". Select a document and click on the "Open" button or press Enter.

This procedure is the same for Microsoft Office Word 2007. The only difference is that instead of the File menu, you need to click on the Office Button.

It is also possible to restore the file forcibly, for this, in the "Open Document" dialog box, select the document, then click on the triangle next to the "Open" button and select the "Open and Restore" option.

In some cases, a restart of the text editor is required to restore the file. Start MS Word, call the "Open Document" applet. In the "File Type" column, select "All Files" and select the file with the extension asd. Open it and reload the program window. When you restart the application, a warning appears on the screen about any unsaved results. Click the "Restore" button and save the file to any directory.
