In addition to the function of almost instant text mail forwarding, e-mail is also used to transfer various files. Files can be of any kind, and their size is limited only by the settings of the mail service. Opening a file from mail is usually easy. The work with attachments is especially well organized in the GMail service.

Step 1
Emails that contain any files are usually marked in the inbox as emails with attachments. A paper clip icon serves as a visual cue for such a letter. If you see such a letter in your mailbox, open it like a regular letter. Attachments to a letter, as a rule, are located after its main text. The GMail service, being one of the Google products, is closely related to other services. Therefore, attachments that are text files, archives and media files can be opened directly in the browser window using various Google solutions. To do this, click the "View" button located in the attachments section.
Step 2
Files sent by e-mail can also be saved to a computer. To do this, open the letter, scroll to attachments and click on the "Download" link. Select a location to save the file and download it. Now you can open the file sent by mail using the applications installed on your computer.
If several files are attached to one letter at once, then using GMail you can very conveniently download them all at the same time. To do this, click on the "Download All" link and select the location to save the files. All attachments will be collected into a single WinRar archive and downloaded to your computer. For later viewing, simply unzip the files.
Step 3
If you are using an email program that is configured for a specific email service, then working with attachments looks a little different. To open a file from mail, right-click on the letter marked with the "Attachment" icon and select the "Open attachments" line in the context menu that appears. If the message contained one file, it will open immediately, but if the message contained several files, a folder containing all of them will open.
