Users of computers, including laptops, can hardly imagine working without a mouse. A rare user knows how to control a computer using the keyboard, and in many applications, not all controls can respond to keyboard actions. If the mouse cursor stops responding to movement, follow these steps.
Instructions
Step 1
Reboot your computer. If the keyboard is still functional, press the Windows key to bring up the Start menu. Navigate to Shut Down by using the arrow keys on the right side of your keyboard and press enter. If neither the mouse nor the keyboard is responding, use the reset button or turn off the computer using the power button. Press and hold the power button of the computer until the computer turns off (you can hear this over the fans inside the case).
Step 2
Turn off your computer and check the mouse cable. Remove and reinsert the connector. If your mouse has a USB connection interface, you can do this even when the computer is turned off. If PS / 2 - be sure to turn off the computer before manipulating, otherwise you risk damaging the PS / 2 port on the motherboard.
Step 3
Try connecting your mouse to another computer to test. If the mouse does not work there, then it is out of order. Unfortunately, computer mice are not repaired due to the low cost of the device. Purchase a new mouse from a computer store. Ask your consultant to help you find the best option for your computer mouse. First of all, you will need to explain what exactly you are doing on the computer. For example, special gaming computer mice have been created for games.
Step 4
If the mouse works, but you have difficulty hitting the interface elements, clean the window on the mouse "belly" from which the red ray is shining. Wipe it off with a slightly damp cloth or plastic wipe. Go to the manipulator settings in the "Control Panel" to adjust the speed of the cursor. Move the cursor in different directions to fully adjust the sensitivity and speed.
