When you have the Internet connected to a laptop or computer with a Wi-Fi interface at home and there is a need to transfer the Internet to a second device, but there is no way to purchase a router, use the creation of a Wi-Fi connection, which will be distributed from the “main” computer.

Instructions

Step 1

First, make sure you have a working Wi-Fi adapter and have drivers installed. Then go to "Manage wireless networks" as follows: "Start-Control Panel-Network and Internet Center for Network and Sharing". In the window that opens, select "Add", after which a menu for selecting a network will appear, in which select "Create a computer-to-computer network".

Step 2

The next window will ask you to click "Next". Enter the SSID that you will see when connecting to this point. Assign a WPA2-Personal password to prevent outsiders from connecting to your network. If there is no need to restrict access, then leave the network open without assigning a password for the connection.

Step 3

Check the box next to the "Save this network settings" option and go to the next window by clicking on "Next". Look at the network settings you created in the window that appears and check them. Be sure to click "Turn on Internet Connection Sharing", otherwise the connection will be limited and only the local network will be available. If everything is done correctly, a window will appear with the words "Internet Connection Sharing Enabled".

Step 4

In order to connect to the created Wi-Fi network, go to the "Start" menu and click "Control Panel-Networks and Internet-Center for Networks and Sharing". In this window, select the "Change adapter settings" tab. Find the icon that says "Wireless Network Connection", then right-click on it and select the "Connect / Disconnect" option. Next, in the window that opens, specify the network name that corresponds to the SSID parameter you entered, and click the "Connect" button.

Step 5

A password request window will appear. Enter the assigned security key and click OK. It remains to choose the type of network: "Home network", "Enterprise network" or "Public network". Upon completion of all actions, you will see a message that the connection is complete, and the SSID name will also be displayed.
