To create a network, you will need a UTP cable ("Twisted Pair"), a switch ("Switch"), RJ-45 connectors, a device for crimping the connectors
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a place to install the switch. Please note that a cable will go to it from each computer, so it is convenient to place it somewhere in the center of the future network. Route the cables from the computers to the switch. Leave a little (about half a meter) of cables near the computers in case you need to move the system unit a little.
Step 2
Cut off one and a half to two centimeters of insulation on the main cable. You don't need to strip the small colored wires! Arrange the small wires by color in the following order: "BO, O, BZ, S, BS, S, BK, K". Where "O" means orange, "C" - blue, "K" - brown. The letter "B" means that it is a white cable with stripes in the color of the second letter. Slide the connector over the cable. Make sure that each wire falls into its own connector guide! Insert the connector with the cable into the crimper and squeeze it firmly. Repeat the operation for all ends of the cable.
Step 3
Connect the switch to all computers. The lights on the switch when the computers are turned on indicate that a connection has been established. If, when connecting a computer, the tab on the switch does not light up, you must cut the connectors and reinstall the others.
Step 4
Now you need to configure your system for a shared network. Open "Control Panel" and select "Network Connections". In the window that opens, right-click on the "Local Area Connection" shortcut. Open the connection properties. In the list of used components, double-click "Local Area Connection". Assign the netmask "255. 255.255.0" to all computers. IP addresses should be assigned as "192.168.1.1", "192.168.1.2", "192.168.1.3" and so on for all computers on the network.
Designate one common workgroup for all computers. Open Control Panel and launch the "System" shortcut. On the Computer Name tab, name the computers and assign one group to all, such as workgroup.
