Step 1
Open the image in which you want to reduce the number of pixels using an advanced graphics editor. Select Resize Image in the Editing Functions and choose a smaller value in pixel format.

Note that a decrease in the number of pixels in a graphic image leads to a loss in quality. It is best to save the picture separately at its original size, as it is not possible to improve the picture quality by increasing the number of pixels.
Step 3
If you need to reduce the size of an image to a certain size while maintaining quality, open it through the Paint program, which is a standard tool of the Windows operating system. Next, save a copy of the image and check if it's resized. In this case, Paint simply erases from the file additional information about it, which occupied a certain specific weight in its total size.
Step 4
In the case when you need to change the number of pixels downward without changing the image size, use the compression function in graphic editors. Please note that this action will lead to loss of quality, but will reduce the weight of the file itself. In this case, it is also not recommended to have only one copy of the image, since it will be impossible to restore it.
