Instructions

Step 1

A smooth transition of color is called a gradient. It can be done in almost any multifunctional photo editor, while the very principle of working with a gradient remains the same. The most famous photo processing and image creation program is Adobe Photoshop.

Step 2

Go to Photoshop, create a new document or select the image where you want to make a color transition. Select the "Fill" tool, which is located in the panel next to the "Eraser" and holding the left mouse button, in the list that opens, click "Gradient".

Step 3

Adjust the colors as needed for your gradient. This can be done in the toolbar by clicking on the black and white squares alternately. To draw a gradient, hold down the right mouse button and drag a line across the canvas in the direction you want the color transition to appear.

Step 4

After you release the mouse, your canvas will be filled with a smooth gradient. Now you need to configure it correctly. On the left in the top panel (gradient fill panel), click on the colored strip. A window with three blocks "Settings", "Gradient" and "Control Points" will open in front of you.

Step 5

Select the desired gradient type in the first section. It can consist of either two or three colors, it can have different directions. To restore the gradient, click on the arrow above the squares.

Step 6

The checkboxes in the "Gradient" section, located by default along the edges of a long strip, affect the smoothness of the color transition from one to another. You can move them, tracking and setting the option you want. Click on one of the top checkboxes and set the gradient transparency you want in the place where this checkbox is located. The lower checkboxes are responsible for the color itself, if you want to change it, click on one of them. After completing all the settings, close the window.

Step 7

To the right of the strip in the top bar, there are five types of gradient that you can apply to your image: linear (the default), tapered, radial, mirror, and diamond.

Step 8

This part of the panel is followed by the "Mode" function. Click on the field that reflects the name of the selected mode and select the one you like.
