Device drivers are not always supplied by the manufacturer in the form of convenient installation packages; often it is just a set of files, among which there is not a single executable. In this case, you will have to do a few simple steps to update (or install) the driver.
Instructions
Step 1
Download and unzip the device driver to a folder that you remember the path to.
Step 2
Click the "Start" button, go to the Control Panel and click on the "System" item.
Step 3
Select the Hardware tab, then click the Device Manager button.
Step 4
Select the device for which you want to update (or install) the driver, right-click on its name and select "update driver". The Hardware Update Wizard will start.
Step 5
If you have previously downloaded the latest driver from the manufacturer - refuse the proposed search for the driver on the Internet and click "Next".
Step 6
If you saved the driver yourself and you do not have it on the disk supplied with the hardware (or there is an old version of it), check the "Install from a specified location" item and click the "Next" button.
Step 7
Check the box "Include the following search location" and below specify the path to the folder where the driver was unpacked in step 1. It is better to uncheck the box "Search on removable media" if you do not plan to install the driver from the disk. Click Next.
Step 8
Follow all further instructions of the installation wizard and restart your computer if necessary.
