When loading the Windows operating system, a login and password entry window may appear, which is inconvenient if the computer is at home and only one user is working on it. In this case, the login window should be disabled.

Instructions

Step 1

For comfortable work, the Windows operating system must be properly configured - in particular, disable the login window. To do this, open: "Start" - "Control Panel" - "User Accounts (Change settings and passwords for user accounts on this computer)". Click the Change User Logon link.

Step 2

In the window that opens, put the checkboxes on the lines "Use the welcome page" and "Use fast user switching". Click the Apply Settings button. After rebooting, you will see the standard Windows Welcome window. If there is only one account on the computer, then the login will occur automatically. In the event that there are several users, you will have to click the icon of the desired account with the mouse.

Step 3

You can remove unnecessary accounts by selecting User Accounts (Account Management) in the Control Panel. In the window that opens, select the unnecessary entry and click the "Delete" button. After that, the computer will automatically boot under the only remaining account (administrator account).

Step 4

To make your computer run faster, you can stop some unnecessary services. During the installation process, the system is automatically configured for different needs of users, so many services are included that an ordinary user will never need.

Step 5

To disable unnecessary services, open: "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Administrative Tools" - "Services". Open the unnecessary service by double-clicking it with the mouse, stop it by pressing the "Stop" button and select the "Disabled" startup type. Confirm the changes by clicking OK.

Step 6

Disable Time Service, Remote Registry, Machine Debug Manager (if you are not a programmer), Telnet (if you do not need this communication protocol), Wireless Setup - if you have no wireless devices. Disable the Server if you are not going to give someone access to your files and folders. It would not hurt to turn off the Security Center, which really does not protect anything and only interferes with its reminders. A complete list of services that can be disabled on your version of Windows can be found online.
