Instructions

Step 1

If you are worried that you will not be able to pause or cancel the print operation in time, you can first remove the paper from the printer tray so as not to waste extra pages on printing unnecessary materials. The system will notify you about the problem - lack of paper, ignore this message. It is advisable not to physically disconnect the printer (do not press the button on the case and do not pull out the cable), this may lead to the fact that the sheet of paper gets stuck in the equipment.

Step 2

Click the Start button or Windows key, open Control Panel, and select the Printers and Faxes icon from the Printers and Other Hardware category. This path is quite long, if you use your printer often, it is better to configure the display of the "Printers and Faxes" folder in the "Start" menu.

Step 3

Right-click on the taskbar and select Properties from the context menu. In the dialog box that opens, go to the "Start Menu" tab and click on the "Customize" button opposite the "Start Menu" item. In the new dialog box, make the "Advanced" tab active.

Step 4

In the Start Menu Items group, find the Printers and Faxes item in the list and place a marker on it. Click the OK button in the Start Menu Customization window, apply the new settings in the Properties window.

Step 5

Having opened the "Printers and Faxes" folder, right-click on the shortcut with the name of the printer you need. In the context menu, select one of the commands: "Pause Printing" or "Delayed Printing". This will shut down the printer (just remember to restart it later).

Step 6

Click on the name of your printer with the left mouse button to select a command for actions with the document sent to print. In the dialog box that opens, select the line with the document name.

Step 7

Expand the Document menu and choose Undo. Confirm your actions in the request window and wait for the document to be removed from the list. If you only want to temporarily pause printing, select the Pause command. To resume printing in the future, click on the "Restart" item.
