Thanks to the ubiquity of digital cameras and computers, photography has turned from a complex professional occupation into a mass hobby. Today, anyone can create and process their own photos, even those who know all the intricacies of this art. However, graphic files of photographs take up a lot of space on the hard disk of a computer, so sooner or later they have to be transferred to other media.

Necessary

removable media: CD-RW disc, flash drive

Instructions

Step 1

The best media for storing photo archives are removable flash drives (flash drives) and compact disks (CDs or DVDs). It is very simple to work with them, it is only important to adhere to the correct sequence of actions.

Step 2

To copy your photo files to a CD, first prepare a blank recording medium. Please note that among the variety of CDs, there are read-only discs for write once (CD-R) and rewrite (CD-RW). Choose the latter option, that is CD-RW. You can also opt for DVDs, which are much larger (the standard size is 4GB).

Step 3

Insert the prepared disc into the optical drive of the computer and make sure that the system "sees" it and can open it. To do this, open the "My Computer" folder on your desktop and look at the "Devices with removable media" section. If the new disc name is displayed on the DVD-RW Drive tab, everything is in order. To be sure, click on it with the mouse and make sure the computer can read it.

Step 4

Open the folder on your hard drive where you store your photos and highlight the ones you want to copy. To select several photos at once, press the “Ctrl” key and, while holding it, click with the mouse on all the necessary files. Then, without releasing the “Ctrl” key, press the letter “C” to copy the files to the clipboard.

Step 5

Open the folder on the removable CD where you want to place the copied photos, then right-click and select "Paste" from the context menu that opens. The photo files are copied to the CD. Or, hold down the "Ctrl" key and click to insert the letter "V".

Step 6

If the folder on the removable disk is not important to you, you can do it easier. Collect all copied photos on the hard drive into one folder, then press the right mouse button. In the context menu, select the "Send" line and specify the disk in the DVD-RW drive as the address.
