To remove and disable some programs and utilities, it is necessary to carry out a whole range of operations. Sometimes you need to clean the Windows system registry yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
First, try uninstalling the program using a standard function of the Windows operating system. Open the start menu and go to the control panel. Select the Add or Remove Programs menu. Find the unnecessary utility, select its name and click the "Remove" button. Delete the selected program by selecting the necessary items in the menu that opens.
Step 2
Restart your computer and make sure that the program has been completely removed. If this does not happen, then install the CCleaner program (or any similar). Run it and open the "Cleanup" menu. Highlight the required items in the left menu by checking the boxes opposite them. Click the "Analysis" button and wait for the end of the running process. After scanning is complete, click the "Clean" button.
Step 3
Go to the "Registry" menu and activate all the available items in the left column. Click the Troubleshoot button. After preparing the files for modification or deletion, click the Fix button. Reboot your computer. Check if the program you want has been removed.
Step 4
If traces of the utility still remain, then try cleaning the system registry yourself. Press the Win + R key combination. In the Run window that appears, type regedit and press Enter. Press the Ctrl and F keys at the same time. Enter the name of the file you are looking for. It usually matches the name of the file you used to run the utility.
Step 5
After finding the required files, select them and press the Delete key. Confirm the deletion of the selected registry files and restart your computer. Be very careful when making changes to the Windows Registry. Deleting important entries can cause serious malfunction of the operating system or some of its components. Create an archive of the registry files using the CCleaner utility. This will allow you to quickly fix any problems that have arisen.
