While surfing the Internet, many users find themselves unprotected against attacks by malware and files. One of the nasty viruses is RazorWeb. In order to remove the RazorWeb virus from your computer, it will not be superfluous to find out some information.
How to find out if the RazorWeb virus has settled on your computer
As a rule, free antivirus programs contain only the standard set of protection, and may allow some viruses to pass through. RazorWeb (from the English "network razor") skillfully bypasses the average level of protection and penetrates the computer when downloading questionable torrent files and when navigating to unknown links.
The malware contains two applications: Service mgr razorweb and Updater mgr razorweb. The installer (updater) downloads malicious files from the network, and the service (Service) includes them in the processes of the operating system. You can find out that your computer is infected with the RazorWeb virus by some parameters:
1. Suspicious folders with a long name containing Cyrillic letters and various symbols (such as the% sign) appeared in the Program Files or Program data folder on the C drive.
2. In the browser, windows of advertising sites constantly pop up, even if you did not click anything.
3. The Service mgr razorweb and Updater mgr razorweb applications appeared in the Task Manager in the "Services" section.
How to remove RazorWeb virus from computer
On the net you can find offers: download utilities for removing viruses for a fee. However, viruses can be removed for free. You won't be able to delete malicious folders with files just like that. When trying to remove a suspicious folder from C / Program files, a dialog box appears stating that action cannot be taken because the file is being used by the RazorWeb service.
Reinstalling an operating system due to a single virus is troublesome and time-consuming. The surest option is to disable the services that run on the virus. A normal shutdown in Task Manager will only work until the computer is shut down. When the OS is restarted, the viruses will turn on again.
In order to outwit the virus, create a "Guest" account ("Start" - "Control Panel" - "Accounts"). Start Task Manager (ctrl-alt-delete). Select the Services tab and click the Open Services button at the bottom.
Select the Updater mgr razorweb application, right click on it and click stop to stop the application. Then click again and select the Properties section. Change the startup type from "automatic" to "manual", and in the "Login" tab, change the icon from the "Login with system account" button to "Login with an account … - Guest".
Repeat the steps for the Service mgr razorweb application. Then go to the Accounts section of the Control Panel again and disable the Guest account. Delete the suspicious folder from Program files.
After successfully removing the RazorWeb virus from your computer, set a password for the system account. And henceforth, while working on the network, be careful with all kinds of files and check for viruses every file you uploaded before allowing it to make changes to your OS.
