The Windows operating system provides the ability to automatically log on to the system, while the password information is stored in the registry in an unencrypted form. Enabling automatic logon allows other users to log on to the system. Automatic sign-in makes working on your computer more convenient, but negatively affects its security.
Instructions
Step 1
Start the Registry Editor, for this in the "Start" menu, select "Run …" and enter the line "RegEdit".
Step 2
Go to section
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWinlogon
Open the DefaultUserName parameter and enter and save your username. Open the DefaultPassword parameter and enter and save your user password.
Open the AutoAdminLogon key and enter the value 1. If the DefaultPassword and AutoAdminLogon parameters are missing, create them, they must be of the "String parameter" type.
Restart your computer, you will be logged in automatically.
Step 3
If the computer does not belong to any domain, and Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional is installed on it, then automatic login can be configured without editing the registry.
1. Start the registry editor, for this in the "Start" menu, select "Run …" and enter the line "control userpasswords2".
2. In the window that opens, uncheck the "Require username and password" checkbox and click the "Apply" button.
3. The "Auto Login" window will open. Enter and confirm the password in the appropriate fields and click OK.
