Many users, who do not install the operating system so often, sometimes face the problem of missing several partitions on the hard disk. Naturally, reinstalling the OS, having previously created partitions again, is an unpleasant pleasure. But there are ways to partition a hard drive without formatting it first.
Necessary
Partition Magic
Instructions
Step 1
You will need Partition Magic to create partitions. Install it on your laptop or desktop computer and restart it. This will allow the program to examine in more detail the condition of your hard drive and its suitability for partitioning.
Step 2
Launch PartitionMagic and select "Power User Mode" in the first window. This mode provides more freedom of action and will increase the number and quality of settings for the state of future partitions.
Step 3
In the "Wizards" tab, find the "Quick Create Partitions" item. You will see a visual image of the status of your hard drives. Configure the required number of future partitions and the format of their file system.
Step 4
Click the Apply Changes button and wait for the computer to restart. The program will continue to work in MS-Dos mode. The time it takes to create partitions depends on their number and the amount of free space on the disk.
