Gone are the days when a hard drive could be partitioned only with the help of a knowledgeable person and for a certain amount of money. Even if you knew how to do it, this method was not considered perfect. Partitioning the disk was possible only when it was formatted. If there was information on your hard disk, then using this method indicated data loss. The "stone age" in the computer industry has been replaced by the modern age, in which partitioning of a disk did not require formatting, thanks to the Partition Magic program.

Step 1
The optimal version of this program is Partition Magic 8. After starting the program that automatically scans your hard drive, you must select a hard drive (if there are several). Select the hard disk partition that you want to divide into multiple partitions. If the hard disk has not been partitioned yet, select the C partition, right-click on it, select the Resize / Move menu item.
Step 2
In the next window, you have to choose the size of the new partition. You can drive in the size of the new partition yourself or use the slider by pulling which to choose the optimal size.
Free Space After is the size of the future partition, and New Size is the remaining disk space. Also specify the name of the folder to which the files on the partition will be transferred. Click the Apply buttons and then OK.
Step 3
In the main window of the program, you will see the unallocated area Unallocated. This area needs to be formatted. Right click on Unallocated, select Create. In the window that opens, select the letter of the new partition and the file system. Click the Apply and OK buttons to save the changes. Close the program and then restart your computer to properly partition the hard drive.
