In modern offices, almost every workplace is equipped with a personal computer. Employees store important financial, personnel or personal information on them, and therefore try to keep outsiders out of them. If one day you find that the computer is already on, do not worry - all its work is logged by special programs, the actions of the operating system are recorded in a separate log, which reflects all successful or erroneous starts of certain services. Among them is data on when and how many times the computer was turned on. To find out, you need to get into the event log.

Instructions

Step 1

Go to the Start menu on the taskbar of your desktop. In the window that appears, select "Control Panel". Go to the control panel by clicking on the entries once with the left mouse button.

Step 2

In the dialog box that appears, a complete list of the contents of the control panel will open. We are interested in the "Administration" option. If you do not see this icon in the center of the window, there is a line "Switch to classic view" on the left side of the menu. Click on it with the left mouse button, the background will turn white, and you can easily find the option you need.

Step 3

Next, you need to double-click on the icon that says "Administration". In the window that opens, among the row of icons, find the "Event Viewer" icon. Going through it will give an opportunity to view the system operation log. Click on the icon twice.

Step 4

The event log has opened in front of you. In the event viewer list on the left side of the window, select the System entry. A register of events sorted by time will appear in the central part of the window. Use the scroll bar or mouse wheel to view the window entries. The third column displays the time the log was accessed - this entry is created when the computer is turned on. By doing a time analysis, you can calculate what time the system was started and how long the computer has been on.
