The procedure for setting up the modem does not require special training or learning programming languages. It is recommended to perform a factory reset before setting up a new connection. In this case, the D-Link modem is considered.
Instructions
Step 1
To start configuring the modem, you need to access the device's web interface. To do this, call the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button and go to the "All Programs" item. Launch your browser and enter the value of the router's IP address (192.168.1.1) in the text field of the address bar. Confirm the selected action by pressing the softkey labeled Enter.
Step 2
Type admin in the "User" and "Password" lines of the authorization dialog box that opens and confirm the correctness of the data by clicking the OK button. Determine the current device firmware version in the Device Info section and update it if necessary. To do this, download the required version and select the Management tab in the main window of the device web interface. Specify the Update Software command and use the Browse button to specify the full path to the saved firmware file.
Step 3
Go to the Advanced Setup section and expand the Wide Area Network (WAN) Setup link. Apply the checkboxes in the fields of all existing connections in the Remove directory and remove them by clicking the button of the same name. Select the Add command and create a new connection. Type 0 in the VPI line of the dialog box that opens and enter 35 in the VCI field. Save your changes by clicking Next and apply the check box in the Bridging row of the Connection Type section in the next dialog box. Select LLC / Snap-Bridging in the drop-down list of the Encapsulation Mode field and confirm your choice by clicking Next.
Step 4
Type the name of the required service in the Service Name line of the new dialog box and confirm your choice by clicking Next. Make sure that the entered data is correct in the next dialog box and complete the modem configuration procedure by clicking the Save button. Reboot the device to apply the changes.
