Some users often wonder how one of the hidden characters can be printed. Despite their absence on the keyboard buttons, it is quite easy to do this if you have a special table at hand.

Necessary

  • Software:
  • - Microsoft Office Word;
  • - Table of symbols.

Instructions

Step 1

To start working with special characters that are not displayed on the keyboard, you need to launch the text editor MS Word. In the main window of the program, click the top menu "File" and select "New". You will see a blank sheet of a new document.

Step 2

The easiest and most efficient way to insert symbols is to use the native Symbol Map utility. Its launch can be called in different ways. Click the "Start" menu and click on the "All Programs" section. Find and expand the "Standard" folder, then click on the desired shortcut.

Step 3

You can also insert a symbol through the text editor itself. To do this, in the main window, click the upper menu "Insert", fully open the menu (by clicking the double arrows) and select the item "Symbol". In the window that opens, select the font that suits you, select the symbol and click the "Insert" button. I would like to note that not every font is rich in special characters, so sometimes you have to search.

Step 4

In order not to waste your precious time looking for a small symbol, for example, the degree Celsius, it is recommended to use special tables. You can see one of the variations of such tables in the picture opposite this step. The code 0176 corresponds to the degree. To enter it, hold down the left key alt="Image" and type 0176 on the Num-keyboard. After that, the alt="Image" key is released and the desired character appears in the text document.

Step 5

There is an exception for every rule, so it is not necessary to use any utilities for the "degree" sign to appear in your text document. Use the expression "42 degrees" to convert as an example. Enter 42o instead of 42. Select the last letter and give it superscript. As a result, you will get the desired result - 42 °.
